Zach Galifianakis’ This is a Gardening Show

A comedian known for turning awkward into an art form, and backed by a deep, delightfully odd IMDB resume, Zach Galifianakis is winning over audiences all over again. His latest? Not your standard gardening show. The off beat series, which premiered on Netflix on April 22, has been sitting comfortably in the streaming platform’s Top 10 ever since, and for good reason.

Think less pruning tips, more punchlines with heart. It’s a mix of community, gardening and Galifianakis doing what he does best: disarming interviews, this time with gardening experts and kids, who often steal the show. The result is equal parts wholesome and hilariously unpredictable.

Each episode clocks in at about 15 minutes, short enough to sample, easy enough to binge. And with just six episodes, all produced and hosted by Galifianakis himself, it’s quick enough to watch that doesn’t overstay its welcome, unlike some of his characters.

From Farm to Table, and now to Netflix

Zach G. isn’t just chasing laughs in his new Netflix series, “This is a Gardening Show“. Galifianakis is digging into something deeper: encouraging viewers to rethink their relationship with food. Through humor and hands-on exploration, the show highlights where our meals come from, the value of clean, healthy eating and the strength of community connections.

Along the way, Galifianakis keeps things light with quote-worthy interviews featuring kids and adults alike, blending curiosity with his signature absurdity. Episodes revolve around a variety of crops and harvests, from tomatoes and root vegetables to apples and more, each serving as a gateway into larger conversations about food and sustainability.

The result is a series that’s equal parts comedy and education, and surprisingly impactful. The reasons to tune in are plentiful. Watch it! You might come for the laughs, but you’ll leave with a new perspective and maybe even a fact or two that you didn’t quite expect.

Zach G. likes to end each episode with this statement,

The future is agrarian”.
