Chico Coachella, a local take on the very popular desert music festival happened Wednesday, April 8th at the Chico Campus at 7 o’clock and lasted until 10 pm that night.

The crowd had a good turn out, with at least 40 students gathered on the Trinity Lawn, despite the thunder and lightening that was happening while bands were performing.  The three bands that rocked the stage included: Farley Ct, YouthQuake, and Repair Unknown, leaving everyone in attendance with a night to remember!

Jillian Bosanek, one of the many in attendance at Chicochella spoke with us saying, “I’ve never been to anything like this. Live shows like these are a great way to get in touch with our local music crowd. I had a great time!” That statement being something that everyone in the crowd could relate to, based merely on energy and enthusiasm alone.  Being able to watch these bands perform as lightening was striking in the distance only added to the ambience of the night as guitars, drums, and vocalists rocked the stage along with the crowd.

For a first time viewer of local shows like this, don’t be surprised if the rocking out takes over the entire lawn, rather learn to embrace it or take cover because those that mosh pit will do what they do best! Some of them even took to the stage, rocking along with the band, before jumping back down into the crowd.
