Ukraine appeared to strengthen its resolve to bring the war onto the home front of their Russian counterparts with a large scale drone attack that took place yesterday resulting in the shutdown of yet another Russian oil refinery. According to BBC some twenty one of the overall thirty eight crude oil refineries have received serious damage as a result from the Russian-Ukrainian war.
While no deaths have been reported as a direct result of the attack yet many have speculated that this event will further feed into the fears many Russian citizens have voiced about the war spreading to their homes.
President Volodymyr Zelensky of Ukraine stated that the drone strikes came as a direct result of an attack earlier this week on the Pechersk Lavra monastery complex in Kyiv, which is largely regarded as one of the holiest sites in Eastern Orthodox Christianity.
Large plumes of toxic smoke have begun to linger over the many neighborhoods that are spread out along side the Moscow based refinery.
Just how far the leaders of both factions are willing to take their use of conventional arsenals is unclear but what is it certain is that it will most likely be the citizens of both sides that county to find themselves the victims of these needless acts of violence.
