“El Niño” a naturally occurring phenomenon is set to happen yet again, making its highest peak between May-July of 2026.

Right now, sea levels in the pacific are rising rapidly.  Australia, Indonesia, and areas in India are at risk of high dry spells and reduced monsoonal rainfall.  These extreme weather patterns can cause record breaking temperatures, droughts, and even floods.  “El Niño” was the name given to this powerful change in weather as it can drastically transform weather patterns across the globe.

Like many things social media has been quick to pick up on the issue, with platforms such as TikTok and Instagram already having content released related to this very topic.   Creators sharing what they think is to come in the next few months.

Lizi Onstott a citizen of Yuba City, CA spoke with The Roadrunner concerning this issue, “It’s very scary, it seems like it has been one thing after another these past few months. I really hope this doesn’t happen for the sake of the planet.”

“El Niño”, while in early stages of formation that may not even measure up to the speculation that has been circling, it is still something that is cause for concern.  Making sure to watch the news and stay up to date with the conditions around you will be some steps to take in the right direction to keep you prepared for what might be on the horizon.
