Firebombs and chaos have erupted across the nation since President Trump was elected for a second term a couple of months ago. One of the main culprits is the poster boy for the newly formed Department Of Government Efficiency, or DOGE, as it’s called: the Tesla CEO Elon Musk.

Elon Musk has been going from one government department to another, auditing and making recommendations to President Trump for cuts and ending some government programs—such as USAID and the Department of Education, for instance. This has riled up a lot of people on the left side of the political aisle, to where Tesla dealerships have been targeted by what folks on the right side of the aisle call “domestic terrorists,” since they have firebomb and burned Tesla vehicles and fired firearms into the dealerships as well.
President Trump has said that Elon Musk’s time in the administration is temporary—around six months—but he has also said that he would like Musk to stay as long as he can. So, it’s unclear how long Elon Musk will remain in the administration.
Since then, though, Elon Musk has gotten himself into many petty and childish fights with other Cabinet members in the Trump administration.

Lately, Musk’s wrath has been aimed at the senior advisor to the president for trade and manufacturing, Peter Navarro, over President Trump’s tariff war. Navarro is a fan of it, and Elon has publicly made clear he is against it. It doesn’t seem to be settling down anytime soon. Just yesterday, Musk called Navarro “truly a moron,” The spat has reached the Oval Office, and President Trump has claimed that the riff is a process that is good in the long run and he likes the hostility, it seems. White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt has chimed in, saying, “Boys will be Boys,” ending with, “We will let the public squabble continue.”
