On Tuesday, January, 27, Butte College hosted a Main Campus welcome event for students offering community connections and support.
Kaylanee was running a booth for The Culture & Community Center where she teaches new students about the services and support they offer.
She confided that, “(The Culture & Community Center) gives opportunities for outreach and making connections with people you wouldn’t normally be around,” adding that she’s benefited from other community-building events such as the People of Color Retreat she attended in the Summer of 2025.

Student participants and information seekers Emmanuelle and Fay who were visiting Kaylanee’s booth said they appreciated the connection and support, “Community is important. If a neighbor needs food you help them out.”
Teams of upper classmen welcomed new students to the Butte College Main Campus.
It was clear that the community was coming together right in front of our eyes as Kaylanee concluded, “It’s about Togetherness.”
