Student body elections will be held in the coming days, April 28 to be more specific, and here’s a few things you might want to know.
Your voice as a student matters, as your simple vote could be the determining factor between who could be representing the student body.
The election will be live for 2 days (48 hours) and during that time, make sure to check your email as notifications will be sent to students devices to help get more people involved.
There are 4 positions in place for the first part of the election, those positions being: President, Vice President of Internal Affairs, Student Trustee, and Vice President of Finance.
Each of these positions are paid positions as hours of work fall anywhere between a range of 5-12 hours.
President being 10-12 hours, paying at $1000 per semester, Vice President of Internal Affairs hours being 8-10 hours with $900 per semester, Student Trustee at 5-7 hours with $100 per district board meeting, and Vice President of Finance with 5-7 hours and $800 per semester.
Senator positions will be elected after the initial election is over, appointed by the Student Government Leadership Team. There are 6 positions open for Student Services Senators, working 5-7 hours weekly, and paying at $600 per semester.
There are also 2 positions open for Academic Senators, working 5-7 hours weekly, and a pay rate of $600 per semester.
According to the Butte College Associated Students Election page, “Senator Applications will be due in BC Connect on May 4th, 2026.”
Senators will appointed into office on May 12th, 2026.
