Tensions continue to rise between the United States and its NATO allies as Trump continues to voice his desires on the annexation of Greenland.
Many different major news outlets such as FOX and NBC have reported on a recent deployment of troops aligned with NATO nations to Greenland ahead of these talks from the President.
Trump has continuously stated the need behind sizing Greenland comes solely from a strategic military standpoint as Greenlands position would allow military radar to pick up any potential threats that may be headed towards the country from over the Arctic sea.
Many have argued that the Pituffik space base which is currently operated by the US Space Force already gives them ability without having to annex the country.
Those in opposition of this move have stated they believe the act to be purely that of economic conquest as Greenland holds many rare earth elements such as lithium, tungsten, uranium, and a major potential for offshore oil deposits.
According to ABC news a recent poll showed that 86% of voters are opposed to using military force in order to seize Greenland, 68% of which were republicans.
In the most recent meeting with the United States in which both top officials from Greenland and Denmark took part neither side was able to come to a resolution the U.S. with both officials siting “fundamental differences.”
