Nathan Azevedo Espindula, Editor-in-Chief
Hello, I’m Nathan Espindula, and I am the editor-in-chief for The Roadrunner. I was born in Belo Horizonte, one of Brazil’s largest cities. Throughout my life, I have lived in many places, ranging from Pitangui to Wisconsin. My writing focuses on sports, environmental issues, and topics that affect me and my peers at Butte College. I have spent four years living in Chico, and I really love this town. After my time at Butte, I plan to transfer to a larger school to continue or enter the workforce directly if the opportunity arises. The Roadrunner means a lot to me; I made most of the executive decisions during the website’s development, and I am grateful to Butte College for providing the funds for us to create such a cool platform. My vision for the Roadrunner is to establish an open platform where students can share their ideas and be heard. Undoubtedly, the most important aspect of The Roadrunner is its readers. I find it remarkable how many people care enough to take time out of their day to read what we write; I am truly thankful for that. I am glad you are alive and thank you for checking us out.

I truly believe that artificial intelligence is the future and learning proper and ethical ways to use it within journalism is essential. I like many other journalists use basic AI such as Grammarly and googles spelling and grammar check. I have also been devoting a lot of my time to learning ways to incorporate more advanced AI into my workflow. I use artificial intelligence such as Chat4 for things like checking for AP style and finding the answer to very specific questions about things like citations or formatting.
