Former Butte College football player Rigoberto Sanchez re-signed with the Indianapolis Colts for a 3-year, $7.5M deal. Returning for his seventh season (and beyond) for the Colts.

In 2021 Sanchez set the record for the longest punt in Colts history (79 yards). He also won AFC Special Teams Player of the Week in week 4 of the 2021 season. He averaged 50 yards on his 4 punts and downed 2 of the punts inside the 20.

At Butte, Sanchez set records for the most PATs made in a season (76 in 2013), most field goals in a season (11 in both 2012 and 2013), the longest field goal in Butte College history (54 yards in 2012), and most field goals made in a career for a player (22 from 2012-13).
