The UFC and Paramount+ partnership went into full effect with the onset of the new year. With the production company shelling out $7.7 billion dollars on the acquisition it is fans that are expected to reap all the benefits of this new partnership.
Fans switching over from the old ESPN+ and Pay-Per-View model are expected to save around $1,000 per year. No longer will people be expected to pay out the initial $11.99 for an ESPN+ subscription plus an additional $79.99 for each event, instead fans will be able to access the sport for just $7.99 a month or $12.99 without ad’s for those who aren’t looking to miss out on any of the action.
Some have speculated that this new model may have a negative impact on the fighters pay however current UFC president Dana White and many others who are high up executives in the company have gone on record to state this isn’t true. White went on further to say that he viewed the old pay-per-view model as being outdated and that he believed the high cost of $79.99 per fight card led many fans to stream the events illegally.
Currently Paramount+ offers the UFC’s full fight library extending all the way back to the days of PRIDE FC. As for the current agreement fans can expect to see thirteen marquee numbered events, and thirty UFC fight night events per year over the following seven years.
