As the semester comes to an end, the stress of final exams seems to pile up all at once. But take a deep breath, this chapter is almost over. The end of a semester always comes with mixed emotions that can make us feel lost at times.
Some of you may have passed several classes this year, while others may not be able to pass them all. And that’s okay. It doesn’t make you less capable or less intelligent. Every student has their own process, with different rhythms and challenges. Even so, you still have an opportunity: you can give one final effort to save the classes that are still within reach. Sometimes, a small extra push makes all the difference. It’s not about perfection, it’s about perseverance.
If at any moment you feel overwhelmed or find it difficult to manage your emotions, remember that you are not alone. Talking to a therapist or someone you trust can truly help, especially during these intense weeks. Additionally, Butte College offers services with therapists for students who feel they need professional support. You can make an appointment at the Student Administrative Services building, room 110.
The semester is almost over. Don’t give up now. Remember, it’s not about being perfect, it’s about trying your best, because you are capable. As Confucius said, “It doesn’t matter how slowly you go, as long as you do not stop”. And as Muhammad Ali said, “Don’t count the days, make the days count.”
