Time to Rave

At the Allycat rave

A rave took place on Friday night, September 1, at the El Rey Theater in downtown Chico.

The upcoming DJ Alleycvt (pronounced alleycat) came to town and performed her brilliant set that lasted about an hour.

Her distinctive beat style felt calm at the beginning, and then in a matter of seconds, she would drop a beat that would turn me into a rage-induced monster.

She had a unique relationship with the crowd where she didn’t have to shout to get everyone hyped or talk a whole lot; she let her music do the talking.

At the same time, I found myself not really feeling the crowd. Raves are usually where you go to rage and join mosh pits, but there were very few people in the crowd jumping and dancing to the music.

So if you like to moshpit, we need you. Come to the next rave and make it more enjoyable.

If you like artists with a unique presence, check out Alleycvt.  Based on her merch designs and music, I would definitely recommend going to one of her shows.

As always, stay hydrated and take breaks when needed.
