Salaam! My name is Shaheera Abbasi and I am a third year student majoring in International Relations and minoring in Journalism. I am extremely grateful for such a platform and the opportunity to amplify SWANASA (South West Asian North African and South Asian) voices while simultaneously raising awareness on the issues that mean the most to me. I hope to pursue a career in human rights law and I see journalism as a tool to combat the many misconceptions that impact Muslim and Arab communities both locally and globally.
