Starting in the fall of 2025, Fracture is Butte College’s literary and creative arts magazine — a bold, student-driven space that celebrates disruption, innovation, and raw expression.

We believe art is not something polished and perfect. It cracks, glitches, distorts. It pushes boundaries and questions norms. Fracture is where that spirit lives.

Created by and for the Butte College community, this magazine showcases the fearless creative work of students across all disciplines. From the quiet clarity of a poem to the vibrant edge of digital design, Fracture is a home for:

• Fiction, memoir, and poetry

• Graphic design and digital content

• Photography and visual storytelling

• Fiber arts, sculpture, and experimental form

Our campus sits on a nature preserve — a place where natural forces are always at work, breaking and remaking the landscape. Fracture is our way of capturing that energy in creative form.
