Currently located at 245 Walnut, the shop will now be moving just down the street to 407 Walnut, next to Taps, with the grand opening set for November 1.
Co-owned by local barbers Jose Mercado “Pepe,” his wife Reyna Mercado, and Alex Biddle, the new location promises an expansion not only of space but also of services for both current and new clients.
The team of barbers, which includes Aurora McDougal, Pepe, Alex Biddle, Reyna Mercado, and Raul Espinoza, is very excited for the big change.
“It’s a new start for everybody,” says Alex Biddle, who’s been with the shop since 2021.
Pepe added, “It’s growth for all of us as a team.”
The new space will not only offer room for additional barbers but will also allow the introduction of services that they’ve been unable to provide at their current location, such as hair washes, color treatments, perms, facials, and massages.
Despite the change of address, many things will remain the same. The shop’s name, phone number, and operating hours—Monday through Saturday, with Monday being appointment only—will stay consistent.
The only change the shop will be seeing operations-wise is that cuts, which are currently $30, will now be $35, a price still lower than most of the shop’s local competitors.
With all this said, Victory Barber Shop’s move comes with big expectations and great excitement.
It will be not only a new chapter in the barbershop’s story but also in that of the barbers who work there. As Alex puts it, “I know we will do great things. I can feel it in my spirit.”
