Have you felt the urge to be a part of something? Have you ever wanted to meet new people, participate in school events and form friendships with others who share mutual pursuits?
On September 10, Butte College hosted its very first club event, Club Rush. This lively function was located at the Main Campus, and it went from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM.
This occasion was all about connecting clubs and students, while promoting what the clubs have to offer. Students were welcomed with live music, delectable snacks, information about each club and the different activities that each club hosts. Adventure Club, Journalism Club, Computer Science Club and Club Run/Walk were some of the organizations that were out mingling that day, although not all clubs were present.

“I never really liked school before, being forced to sit in a room all day, then going home to do homework irritated me. When I found out about Adventure Club, it gave me a chance to be outdoors, meet new people and hang out with friends,” said Marroquin, Adventure Club president.
Joining a student club could be quite beneficial during a student’s college years. It’s a fantastic way to get involved with your college and form friendships with peers who share the same interests as yourself.

“It’s about trying to get people to join clubs and letting the student population know what clubs are available,” stated Wideman of the Computer Science Club.
“It’s about camaraderie, an environment where everyone has something that they all share in common,” expressed Alexander Pulido of the Computer Science Club.
Many students crave a sense of belonging, acceptance and support so why not join a club today? If you’re interested and want to learn more about the diverse selection of clubs that Butte College has to offer, explore the MyBCconnect webpage https://butte.campuslabs.com/engage.
