how can it be that this democracy
has turned into such an atrocity
and now we have the ability
to put an end to this hypocrisy
we don’t
but that’s not to say we won’t
if unity was the backbone
to this generation’s milestone
but we idolize firepower
and not collective brainpower
some cower while others collect manpower
people silently observe
what is being incurred
taken in to be forever a reminder
to settle like a red hot ember
in the heart of every clan member
being told it’s alright
pacified? yeah right
willpower is not finite
at any given hour there is a fight
so go ahead and write
about what is in your eyesight
now I dare you to step outside
that small box in which you reside
take a moment set aside
all that glorified pride
meet together as allies
empathize instead of criticize
think of it as a new type of baptize
decease to despise and you might be surprised
how much of this divide was merely implied
no one said it was going to be a blast
getting over this long hard past
but we have amassed to make this pact last
people of this age will hold hands and stand
steadfast against all reprimand
in faith that we will come to understand
Peace does not have a lease
Peace does not have a lease
A poem’s call for unity.
