On Tuesday April 8, 2025, a nature walk was hosted by the Butte College Walking Group, a group of inter-disciplinary instructors that get together every Tuesday from 1:00 -1:45 to explore the nature reserve that is the Butte College main campus. The walk is open to faculty, staff and students.
Ms. Kim emphasized that the focus of this particular walk was looking at the mud and the erosion flow of the rain water. She showed us the cracks in the ground and how water eventually flows into gullies and even can eventually become a canyon. The educational focus changes each walk.
As we walked, we looked at flowers and were introduced to an app that can help identify different plants.
If you want to join on the next adventure, meet outside LS 102 before the walk starts at 1:00.
