In a world where two souls
Cannot touch nor collide
A bird and a fish fell in love,
And they yearn to reunite.
Glistening tides call the fish
As the breeze of wind calls the bird.
In times of silence, when near, they hear each other
Nothing spoken, but only heard
Like the hums of song from the fish filling the air,
And the flaps of the bird’s wing echoing the sea
In the middle of the night,
When no one is around,
The bird and the fish meet with no sound.
But in love and despair,
“I’d give up the sky” whispers the bird.
“I’d leave the sea” says the fish, unheard,
For love is a whisper, so delicate and true
But some words have no effect, no matter the fight
Instead, they linger in the middle of the night
So the fish and the bird remain apart,
Until the stars and cosmos align
