It’s starting to look a lot like Christmas, at least even more so on December 6, 2024. Come to Downtown Oroville at 1200 Myers Street, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., for a spectacular event that is fun for the whole family and community.
The Christmas Tree Lighting event that will be a night to celebrate as a community while the tree that is in front of the Oroville Convention Center will be lit at 7:00 p.m.
The Christmas Tree was donated by Sierra Pacific Industries according to the website.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT AT THE EVENT:
Hot Chocolate, along with Christmas carolers, free pictures with Santa, carriage rides, and of course, as with all events downtown in Oroville, some shops will have deals and cookies in their stores.
From 4-8 p.m., there will be carriage rides which are a fun staple of Christmas time, and the line starts at Miners Alley in front of the Gray Nurse at 1359 Huntoon St. Tickets cost $ 8.00 for adults, $5.00 for children ages 1-17 and those under 2 are free.
From 4-6:30 p.m. you can have your picture taken with Santa inside the Convention Center at 1200 Myers St.
From 4:00-6:00. pm there will be free face painting for kids at the TinyHinies at 1977 Montgomery St.
Another time this will take place is December 14, 2024, when they have the parade of lights and the tree-lighting ceremony on the same day.
“We look forward to this every year and the kids really love to have their face painted and sit with Santa,” said Jessica who lives near the downtown area and has been going to this event for years.
The other common theme we got when we talked to those in the community about the event was how they love how the downtown area always has things going on that are community oriented.
If you are in the area during the time don’t miss out and come to downtown Oroville and enjoy a community-based event with friends and family and bring in the holiday season.
