Chico’s Best Coffee Shop

A hub for art, live music and cozy productivity.

If you are a coffee fan, chances are you have your normal order and your favorite shop on your mind as you are reading this – set those aside for a few while you read a bit about mine. Located at 118 W 2nd Street in Downtown Chico there is (in my opinion) the best coffee shop in town.

While Naked Lounge lacks a full menu of food, the quality of the drinks and the amazing staff make up for the limited snack options. The atmosphere is reminiscent of an early 2000’s coffeehouse, mismatched chairs and tables, large windows in the front and familiar faces always popping in the door.

The ordering process is simple: walk up to the counter, place your order and check out the local art for sale while you wait for your drink to be crafted. There are many drink options ranging from various teas, to lattes, cappuccinos and more.

Not only does Naked Lounge have beverages, but often it is a hub for musicians and even live music. There is a live show almost once a week, with bands coming from as far as Italy. During normal hours, my favorite place to study is the couch on the stage.

It is the perfect spot for cozy productivity, especially on rainy days. When set up for live shows, you can find the stage at the back of the building. It is covered in music posters, and behind it is a large stained-glass window that was custom made for the venue.

If you are interested in trying a new spot for coffee, I would highly recommend Naked Lounge. My go-to order is an iced honey latte with almond milk – even better with a sprinkle of cinnamon on top!
