On Halloween day, this Thursday, October 31, 2024, on the main campus, the Department of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences is hosting an event that will be a smash: Smashing Pumpkins.

The band will not be performing, but if you are feeling stressed, overwhelmed, or just like to be a little destructive then come to the Campus Center Lawn from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm.

This is a fun way to celebrate Halloween as most college students are not out trick or treating anymore.

It’s about that time in the semester when people are freaking out over midterms, catching up on classes, or just getting the fatigue that comes with the college course schedule.

Don’t be shy, come out and get involved. This is a fun event that will have you feeling better about whatever It is you are feeling, dealing with or maybe you just want to have fun.

Students in the Agriculture Department grew every pumpkin that will be smashed as well.

The host of the event is BC Student News and Events which is separate from the Roadrunner newspaper as they mostly deal with news and events sponsored by the Butte College departments, programs, and administration according to the website on BC Connect. The website also mentions that there will be free stuff as well.

If you have some free time, volunteers are needed to set up, run, and clean up, so maybe bring some friends and make a whole thing. It’s also a good way to connect and be involved in the college experience.
