I had the pleasure of meeting Butte’s very own Koya Poter, a sophomore here at Butte. She is a core member of Butte’s Women’s Volleyball.

Her position on the team is left-side hitter. Porter believes this position fits her best due to her speed and ability. She has played volleyball for about five years at OMNI Volleyball Club in Sacramento before playing at Butte.

She is most proud of her athletic highlight of getting 100 kills in only 10 games!

Poter has high hopes for her team and states, “I’m honestly, really proud of our growth and the progress that we’ve made. We just came off of a five-game win streak after being O and 11 in the preseason, and I honestly think that that is just a great accomplishment for our team, and we are progressing at such a fast rate. And I love these girls to death, so I’m excited for our season.”

Koya is studying criminal justice and plans to transfer to San Marcos to continue her studies along with her athletic journey.

Keep up with Koya’s achievements by supporting her performance at Butte volleyball games!
