Shi No Numa (Swamp of Death) is the third map in the Zombies franchise. This map takes place in a swamp in Japan. It is also the first map not to have Nazi zombies. The running speed from the zombies has been reduced back to the original speed in Nacht Der Untoten. The mystery box now has a beam in the sky showing where the location is due to maps getting bigger. Shi No Numa is the first map where the characters have voice lines, and it introduces the most famous zombie crew on almost every map. (Edward Richtofen, Tank Dempsey, Nikolai Belinski, and Takeo Masaki.)
The in-game song is called “The One” by Kevin Sherwood and Elena Siegman. It is activated by going into the comms room and interacting with the telephone 3 times. The music gives a nice cool feeling while playing.
Like the other 2 maps, Shi No Numa was remastered in Black Ops 1 and 3. Shi No Numa’s map description is: “Maggot-ridden corpses. Bug-infested swamp. Hundreds of undead Imperial Army. Choose your tactic and defend for your lives!” The perks randomly spawn in one of the four areas outside the spawn area, so you have to get lucky if you’re looking for a certain perk to buy. There is a special round where “hellhounds” spawn; at the end of the round, you receive a max ammo.
A new wonder weapon was introduced to the game; it is called the Wunderwaffle DG-2. The weapon can kill up to 10 zombies at once, which is amazing and helps a lot when going for high rounds. A zipline is on the 2nd floor and is an easy way to escape zombies if needed too. The water from the swamp slows the players down, so it’s best to avoid that and stick to the wood planks.
Shi No Numa is better than the last two maps due to the Wunderwaffle being added and the Hellhound round; it makes it easier to get a max ammo when trying to reach a high round, and with the Wunderwaffle being as powerful as it is, the more ammo the better. Overall, Shi No Numa is an 8/10 because of the weapons, perks, and being a way bigger map than the last 2 combined, along with having a cool atmosphere. The next map I will be reviewing is Der Riese, and it is the final map that is in Call Of Duty: World At War.
NOTE: All pictures will be from BO3 due to the older systems not having a screenshot option.
