Silent Disco: A Thrilling Way to Enjoy Your Nights Off From Studying

On the first Friday of every month, Meriam Park puts on a Silent Disco event. At this event children, teens, college students, and adults all can enjoy some sweet tunes along with food and entertainment. This a cheap and easy activity for friends and families to enjoy. 

WHAT IS A SILENT DISCO AT MERIAM PARK?

Meriam Park makes the fun, all-ages Silent Disco experience super convenient by providing headphones that are specifically linked to the three stations being DJed that night. You simply flip to any of the three stations, red, blue, or green, to listen to your desired DJ. A typical Silent Disco at Meriam Park has three DJs stationing three different genres of music. These stations could consist of RnB, soul, current popular songs, pop, rock, or EDM. The music choice depends on which DJs are performing that night. Once you choose your desired station, you’re welcome inside the barn or a grassy area outside of the left side of the barn. Inside the barn stage lights are flashing pink, blue, and white with a fog effect. You’re welcome to any table inside to put your belongings or beverages. The outside provides fresh air and cornhole entertainment. 

WHY IS THIS AN EVENT?

Lindsay Poulin, a member of Gonzales Development Company, states that The Barn (Meriam Park) and Black Noise plan the silent disco events “to offer a unique and personalized dancing experience were participant’s listen to music through wireless headphones instead of speakers. This allows each person to choose their preferred music channel from their headphone, as multiple DJs broadcast different music tracks simultaneously. It’s a family-friendly way to cater to diverse taste while keeping the noise levels low.”

Poulin also shared, “We’ve had several guests attend every Silent Disco we’ve hosted in the Barn, and we wouldn’t keep doing it without their amazing loyalty!”

PRICES

If you wish to attend a future Silent Disco at Meriam Park here is some helpful information on pricing and how to purchase your ticket. The best and cheapest way to purchase a ticket is online. You can do so by looking up Meriam Park Silent Disco and simply pressing on the button labeled “ticket.” From there you provide your method of payment along with your name. You can also follow Meriam Park Events on Instagram and wait for them to provide a link to tickets @meriam_park. Online tickets cost $7 for each person and round up to $10 due to online fees. However, if you prefer to pay in person on the day of, that’s no problem. When you enter the gates of Meriam Park you will be charged $15 at the door. Hannah Middleton, a fellow Butte Student stated, “I personally think the prices are so affordable, especially for such a fun experience.”

BAR     

Meriam Park Barn provides Silent Disco attendees with a food and drink bar. Here you can purchase popular drinks such as alcoholic beverages, Hazy Little Thing ($7-$8), Humble Honey Cider ($7-$8), and Sierra Nevada Oktoberfest ($7-$8). The bar also has hotdogs ($7) and popcorn ($3). There are other foods and drinks of course, these are just their most popular items.

MEET THE DJS

Shaun Mantubia DJed the blue station. The blue station featured a mix of RnB and soul. When asked “Why did you come to this event?” Mantubia answered “Oh, because I’m working. Yeah, I’m DJing the throwback channel. It’s a hoot every time and the crowd seems to enjoy it so I’m just happy to be here.” 

 Theo Burtun @djtheo.b DJed the green station. This station featured current popular songs. When asked “What do you enjoy most about DJing?” Burtun answered, “I enjoy just controlling the room, taking risks, and providing a good time for people.” 

Dylan Polanco @pulse.control (not pictured) DJed the red station. The red station featured EDM music. When asked, “What music do you enjoy playing?” Polanco answered, “I really enjoy playing like every kind of music but tonight I was an EDM artist, and it was really fun. I had a good time.” 

MY THOUGHTS

I personally love Silent Discos at Meriam Park. I have been going to each disco since March of 2023. My friends and I enjoy dancing and listening to the different DJs performing. My favorite station of the night was Blue featuring a mix of RnB and soul. My boyfriend and I knew every song and danced the night away. I think the prices are reasonable and such a cheap activity to look forward to. Overall, I recommend all Butte Students take a night off studying and enjoy some good music with friends at Meriam Park Silent Disco night.
