Nacht Der Untoten (Night of the Undead) will be the first map reviewed in the Call Of Duty Zombies franchise. Nacht Der Untoten was the first zombie map ever made, and you unlocked it in Call Of Duty: World At War (2008) after beating the campaign that would become known as Nazi Zombies (“Nazi” was removed from the name once the games no longer took place during WW2).
The map would later be remastered twice in Black Ops 1 and 3, but we are only reviewing the original release. Description of the map: “Nacht der Untoten is located in an abandoned airfield where up to four unnamed Marines must defend themselves against an infinite number of waves of the undead for as long as possible. You drove them deep into the heart of the Reich. You thought they were dead. You were wrong.”
Nacht has a musical easter egg that can be activated if the player wants to listen to the song called “WTF” by Kevin Sherwood. These musical easter eggs would go to be in almost every zombies map to this day.
Nacht Der Untoten is the smallest map in the Cod Zombies franchise’s history. This map has no Easter eggs (main mission) and is purely a survival map. There are no perks either, but that is what makes the map challenging; you have to strategize how you are going to get to a high round. The Ray Gun was first introduced in this map and was game-changing as it was a one-shot kill until round 22.
Nacht Der Untoten is a fun and simple map. It is nothing special, but if you want a challenge, I would recommend the World At War version of this map due to no perks, pack a punch, and other wonder weapons. Overall, this map is a 7/10. The next map I will be reviewing is Verrückt.
NOTE: All pictures will be from BO3 due to the older systems not having a screenshot option.
