President Joe Biden Drops Out of the Race

What will happen next?

On July 21, 2024, President incumbent Joe Biden announced via a letter that his campaign for United States President has ended.

This comes on the heels of multiple calls from prominent democrats from the high levels of government, advisors, and pundits.

After the June 27, 2024 debate between President Joe Biden and former President and Republican Nominee for President of the United States of America Donald Trump, critics say they lost faith in their party’s leader to reach the finish line and defeat Fmr. President Donald Trump.

Since the debate, President Joe Biden has dropped numbers in the poll, causing many Democrat leaders to panic and call for Joe Biden to drop out of the race.

Former President and current Republican nominee for president of the United States of America has had an attempted assassination attempt at a rally in Butler, PA where a 20-year-old local from the area got on top of a roof with an AR-15 style rifle and was able to shoot off about 8-10 rounds killing one person, critically injuring two others and narrowly missing Trump by what many call a miracle since he (Trump) moved his head at the last second and the bullet hit his ear instead of the intended head-shot.

Joe Biden defied calls for him to drop out the race, saying he is the most qualified to beat Donald Trump. The opinion apparently changed and since his announcement many prominent Democrats such as California Governor Gavin Newsom, Sec. Pete Buttigieg, Rep. Jim Clyburn, and even Joe Biden have all come forward and endorsed Vice President Kamala Harris.

Kamala Harris was born in Oakland on October 20, 1964. She is 59 years old, and her parents are immigrants from India and Jamaica. She graduated from UC Law San Francisco class of 1989. She has been married to her husband, the second gentleman Doug Emhoff, since 2014. Emhoff is of Jewish heritage. Harris is stepmother to Emhoff’s  two daughters.

Harris was the 32nd Attorney General of California serving from 2011-2017 and became California Senator from 2017 until 2021 when she became Joe Biden’s running mate.

Before President Joe Biden dropped out the race, Vice President Kamala Harris had committed to debate former President Donald Trump running mate J.D. Vance; its unclear if that will take place.

The debate has come to the convention the DNC will be hosting in Chicago, August 19, to 22 2024.
