Discovering Taj Indian Cuisine: Heartwarming Hospitality

From warm hospitality to mouthwatering dishes, Taj Indian Cuisine is the delightful spot you’ve been missing!

Even though I’ve lived just around the corner from Taj for the past three years, I only visited for the first time this past May at their new location. It turned out to be a memorable experience that I just have to share because of how kind they are! Initially, I wasn’t planning on getting anything for myself since we were just stopping for a colleague on our way to a meeting. But when we pulled into the parking lot, we realized the place was closed. As we sat in the car trying to find another option, someone came to the door and reopened the restaurant for us.

Because of that kind gesture, I wanted to support them, even though I didn’t have much of an appetite. I decided to get a small appetizer called “Pani Puri” (or “Gol Guppa” on the menu). It’s a fun dish made of fried hollow balls filled with a mix of potatoes, onions, and chickpeas, served with tamarind water. You poke a hole in the ball, fill it with the potato mixture and tamarind water, and eat it in one bite. It was delicious, and the fact that they asked if I wanted it spicy or not made it even better.

The next time I went, I ordered Pani Puri again and also tried some of what my friends ordered. Everything was fantastic, and I’ll definitely be going back. My roommate, I found out, visits Taj for her “Chai” cravings. It’s a smart choice compared to other places because you get the authentic flavors rather than a watered-down version.

One of my friends ordered the “Chicken Biryani,” and I was surprised at how much I liked it. I’m really picky about biryani, comparing everyone’s to my mom’s cooking from our city in India, which is famous for its cuisine. This one definitely lived up to my expectations. It was perfectly spicy and came with a side of yogurt for those who prefer a milder taste.

I also recommend stopping by Taj for a sweet treat on a hot day. They have a variety of Indian drinks and desserts, but their kulfi is a must-try! It’s an Indian ice cream that comes in classic flavors like pistachio and mango. Even though it’s not house-made, I haven’t seen it at other restaurants, so it’s definitely worth trying.

Overall, my visits to Taj have been nothing short of delightful. From their warm hospitality to their delicious and authentic dishes, Taj has become a new favorite spot for me. Whether you’re in the mood for a savory snack or a refreshing treat, Taj has something special to offer. I highly recommend giving it a try.If these reviews inspire you to try a new restaurant or dish, tag @theroadrunnernewspaper on Instagram and share your experience.
