Nicki Minaj is one of the most iconic faces in the female rap game. Back in December of 2023, Minaj released her 5th album “Pink Friday 2,” titled after her most famous album.
Of course, after a successful album release artists go on tour. Nicki is currently on her “Gag City Tour” that has broken records.
After her album, Minaj was in lots of drama with fellow rapper Megan Thee Stallion and now the drama continues. Tiktoker Donte Colley created a choreography for Nicki’s song “FTCU” and posted it on TikTok before Nicki’s tour.
When her tour began, Colley realized that Nicki had performed his choreography. So he took to TikTok and posted about his excitement. Nicki then took to Twitter and personally shouted him out, thanking him for his contribution while also stating someone from her team would reach out to him.
He made another TikTok asking for an opportunity to come on stage and perform alongside her to which Nicki’s team responded to him personally saying that they couldn’t bring him out and offered him one hundred dollars and tour tickets instead. Donte responded that he wasn’t looking for compensation; he just wanted to be recognized.
Nicki’s choreographer then took to Twitter putting Colley on blast saying that they wouldn’t want to bring Donte out for only 10 seconds of choreography and that he was recognized through the offer of tickets and money. Donte then demanded a shoutout and eventually got to dance alongside her.
In the end, Colley ended up not being paid. Nicki is still using his choreography for her tour which is currently sold out.
Was Donte fairly compensated? Or should he have taken the money and tickets?
