On Thursday, September 5, Butte College students from all majors came together to sit and eat free pizza and wings provided by Butte College’s own journalism professor, Kelly Fredericks. Three tables were filled to the brim as more and more students turned up to fill up the back of the pizzeria.
The night started with guest speaker Milca Elvira Chacon from Chico State’s newspaper “The Orion.” She discussed her experiences working in the university paper, brought a few copies to show the group some journalism do’s and don’ts, and gave invaluable advice and encouragement about not just being on a school paper, but being a journalist in general.
Club elections were held, and the club constitution was revised and approved. Merch designs were brainstormed in anticipation of the next club meeting on Thursday, Sept. 19 from 12:30 – 1:40 at the main campus Create Space. Plan to join us!
